Mervyn King is a Senior Counsel and former Judge of the Supreme Court of South Africa. He is Professor Extraordinaire at the University of South Africa on Corporate Citizenship, Honorary Professor at the Universities of Pretoria and Cape Town and a Visiting Professor at Rhodes. He has an honorary Doctorate of Laws from the Universities of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and Leeds in the UK, He is Chairman Emeritus of the King Committee on Corporate Governance in South Africa, which produced King I, II, III, IV and V and Chairman of the Good Law Foundation. He is Chairman Emeritus of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) in London, Chairman Emeritus of the Global Reporting Initiative in Amsterdam and a member of the Private Sector Advisory Group to the World Bank on Corporate Governance. He chaired the United Nations Committee on Governance and Oversight and was President of the Advertising Standards Authority for 15 years. He is chairman of the African Integrated Reporting Council and chairman of the Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa. He received the ICGN Lifetime Achievement Award for promoting quality corporate governance globally. Wits University honoured Prof King in 2025 by establishing the Mervyn King Centre for Corporate Governance and Sustainability. He has been a chairman, director and chief executive of several companies listed on the London, Luxembourg and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges. He has consulted, advised and spoken on legal, business, advertising, sustainability and corporate governance issues in over 60 countries and has received many awards from international bodies around the world. He is the author of many books on governance, sustainability and reporting, the latest being “The Healthy Company”. He sits as an arbitrator and mediator internationally.

Dr Kgotso Kobo is a strategic development leader and AI governance researcher with over 15 years of experience across policy, research, and programme implementation. He is a Senior Project Manager at Bonutrim Consulting and a former Senior Manager at the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), where he led national policy and research initiatives. His research focuses on human-centred AI and its implications for ethical leadership and corporate governance in Africa. His work explores how organisations and boards can responsibly harness AI to drive ethical, sustainable, and inclusive growth, an area of growing importance for corporate governance in Africa. He is widely recognised for his ability to translate complex research into actionable strategy, build cross-sector partnerships, and advance innovation-driven development. His expertise sits at the intersection of governance, technology, policy, and development, making him a compelling voice on how African institutions can navigate AI-driven transformation while strengthening ethical leadership and long-term value creation.

Prof. Rufaro Garidzirai is an economics researcher specializing in emerging issues at the intersection of digital transformation, governance, and sustainable growth in Africa. With a strong focus on how artificial intelligence is reshaping economic and corporate landscapes, he brings an enthusiast’s depth to examining AI-driven disruption, board adaptability, and long-term value creation. His work explores critical questions of ethics, resilience, and stakeholder accountability, offering practical insights for boards and executive leaders navigating technological change. Prof. Garidzirai is passionate about enabling African companies to move beyond risk avoidance toward strategic, AI-informed governance that drives inclusive and sustainable development.

Holds a Bachelor of Laws - University of Botswana and various qualifications for Corporate Governance and Compliance Risk Management and exposures to senior management trainings and experience. Innocent has facilitated effective and good corporate governance environments in many entities and continue to do so with passion to date.

As a Board Member and Advisor, Ms. Kahumbya Bashige have guided Boards and Board Committees on corporate governance, organizational change, business transformation, board and senior management team structure, risk management, and regulatory compliance. I served as one of the chief architects that accompanied an East African bank through growth and transformation, establishing dominant market position to catapult the bank from 10th to 1st position nationally. The First African Female to be elected to the Council of Institute of Directors UK (IoD UK) and First East African Female Chartered Director (IoD UK), She champion excellence in corporate governance and serve as Thought Leader, Speaker, and Writer on Leadership and Governance.

Letsile Sento is a chartered Accountant with more than 11 years of experience in finance and leadership roles. He currently serves as financial controller at water utilities corporation, where he is responsible for strengthening financial management and supporting the organization’s operations. He also serves as chairperson of the water utilities pension fund board, providing leadership on governance matters and overseeing the fund’s investment decisions in the best interests of members. Letsile holds a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Qualification as well as a Certified Advanced Pension Fund Specialist accreditation from the USA.

Darryl Dennis has held various senior positions within a large multinational ICT Organisation, followed by numerous board appointments. He has successfully taken on the role of CEO of the Nelson Mandela Innovation Hub. Spearhead senior-level, strategic relationships with key stakeholders. An evangelist for the incubator in all forums and responsible for representing the company as required, including attendance at important functions, industry events, and public meetings. Create a team primarily involved in managing the project operations and investments, performing outreach and other promotional activities with the culture of entrepreneurship, openness, and integrity, and monitoring its functioning Responsible for planning and executing activities within the pre-approved budget, including verification and recommendation of the release of operating expenses, ensuring proper implementation, and strict monitoring of annual plans, budgets, and targets. Responsible for directing the Finance team to prepare annual budgets, completing risk analysis on potential investments, and advising the Board of Directors regarding investment risk and return. Responsible for the Financial Statements of the Company and other compliances. Responsible for presenting the company’s progress and discussing the plans in the Board meeting held periodically.
